Voting rules will apply (dues paid up to date and a minimum number of meetings attended in the last year).

Description:

All Friends of Bubonicon who plan to volunteer their help at Bubonicon 40 are invited (and strongly encouraged) to attend an organizational meeting 7:30 pm Friday, August 15, at Some Stuff From Huff Studio, 5900 Domingo NE. This is a former radio station one block north of Central Ave and four blocks west of San Pedro, so look for the tall tower.

At this meeting, we will go over the 2008 convention program schedule, talk about volunteer positions and duties, explain the rebate system for working, have our gofers (workers) sign up for their preferred time slots, and hand out some movie or book swag to all attendees (subject to what has arrived from our donors).

So, please plan to join us one week before Bubonicon 40 begins! All volunteer workers are very much appreciated!

Local author and screenwriter DEBBIE LYNN SMITH will talk about her writing experiences in Hollywood and the Publishing World, and show the rough cut of a film she is adapting from a short story of her own. While the story and film are described  as a Southwestern fairytale, most of Debbie’s work has been horror.
