Programming – A Visit From civilian scientist Matthew Fetrow
Matthew Fetrow, retired civilian scientist with the Space Force and Air Force, visits ASFS to talk about space, the space business and how it relates to New Mexico. He currently teaches a class at New Mexico Tech about space: the history of space technology and economics.
Before retirement, Fetrow was a Senior Scientist with the US Space Force and the Communications Director for the Space Force Rapid Capabilities Office, connecting businesses, academia, and the public to the work of the Space Force. Previously he led the Air Force Research Laboratory’s technology transfer, STEM outreach, commercialization, innovation, and community engagement activities in New Mexico. In addition, Fetrow has led numerous technology programs for the Air Force with a focus on space remote sensing, laser remote sensing, and advanced photonics. Before his years of federal service, he worked in optical systems research and development at industry startups and in academia. Matt received his B.S. in Physics from Utah State University and his M.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts.
Remember, no outside food is allowed at St. Andrew. Please be discreet with any candy. Water/soda bottles and lidded beverage cups are permitted (until we have a clean-up issue).

DOORS OPEN AT 7:15 PM. Please do not arrive before this time. We have to set up the room ourselves, and straighten/clean-up at the end (just about 9:45 pm). Use the North Door on the backside of the church! Courtyard gate is locked at 5:00 pm each day.
