A DARK ROOM HORROR SPECIAL!  ADVANCE TICKETS ONLINE AVAILABLE SOON!  DOOR PRIZES COURTESY OF BUBONICON 55 and SPECTRAL YOUTH!  A 45TH ANNIVERSARY NORTH AMERICAN CELEBRATION SCREENING!

Directed by George Romero – 1978 – 127m.  All Seats $10.00

The North American gala premiere of Dawn of the Dead took place on April 12, 1979, at the Gateway Theatre in downtown Pittsburgh.  The film began the official U.S. theatrical launch the following day, eventually rolling out across the country.  To honor this special milestone, New Amsterdam Entertainment Inc. is making the movie available again in theaters & drive-ins for coast-to-coast screenings starting April 12, 2024, and running through to the end of May!

When there’s no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth.  With the U.S. in the grip of a zombie apocalypse, four desperate survivors find refuge in a shopping mall. But the flesh-eating hordes, still possessed by an instinctive desire to consume, are drawn to the same destination. What follows is a nail-biting fight for survival.

George A Romero’s Dawn of the Dead remains one of the greatest horror films ever made, often imitated but never equaled!

“Arguably Romero’s best zombie film, and its stark social satire (it takes place in a mall, where the excesses of capitalism help to sustain survivors of the zombie apocalypse) will wake you up figuratively if not literally.” – Kathleen Sachs, Chicago Reader

What delights me about Dawn of the Dead is that, over four decades later, the film still has genuine scares and gore…” –  Jas Keimig, The Stranger (Seattle, WA)
