MARY ROBINETTE KOWAL AT BOOKS ON THE BOSQUE   SATURDAY, APRIL 13 — 4:00 PM

Mary Robinette Kowal, author of the Lady Astronaut Universe and Bubonicon 50 co-Guest of Honor, will talk about and sign The Spare Man and other works 4:00 pm Saturday, April 13, at Albuquerque’s Books on the Bosque.

About The Book:  “A 2023 Hugo Award Finalist, and a 2022 Locus Magazine Recommended Reading List pick!  Tesla Crane, a brilliant inventor and an heiress, is on her honeymoon on an interplanetary space liner, cruising between the Moon and Mars.  She’s traveling incognito and is reveling in her anonymity.  Then someone is murdered and the festering chowderheads who run security have the audacity to arrest her spouse.  Armed with banter, martinis and her small service dog, Tesla is determined to solve the crime so that the newlyweds can get back to canoodling ― and keep the real killer from striking again.”

Kowal is the author of the Lady Astronaut Universe, The Glamourist Histories series and Ghost Talkers.  She’s a member of the award-winning podcast Writing Excuses and has received the Astounding Award for Best New Writer, four Hugo awards, the RT Reviews award for Best Fantasy Novel, the Nebula, and Locus awards.  Stories have appeared in Strange Horizons, Asimov’s, several Year’s Best anthologies and her collections Word Puppets and Scenting the Dark and Other Stories.  Her novel Calculating Stars is one of only 18 novels to win the Hugo, Nebula and Locus awards in a single year.  As a professional puppeteer and voice actor (SAG/AFTRA), Mary Robinette has performed for LazyTown (CBS), the Center for Puppetry Arts, Jim Henson Pictures, and founded Other Hand Productions. She lives in Nashville with her husband Rob and over a dozen manual typewriters.
