MANIAC COP: 35th ANNIVERSARY!

Blasting from the minds of exploitation legends William Lustig (Maniac) and Larry Cohen (It’s Alive), Maniac Cop is a brilliant action-slasher that’s finally back where it belongs—on the big screen.  Matt Cordell (Robert Z’Dar, Samurai Cop) is a murderous ex-cop who’s back from the dead and out for revenge.  But first, he’ll have to deal with super cops Jack Forrest (Bruce Campbell, Evil Dead) and Frank McCrae (Tom Atkins, Night of the Creeps).  Maniac Cop is an ultra-violent, live-action cartoon for adults that feels like a glorious mash-up of Halloween and The Terminator.  But it also serves as a prescient exploration of police corruption.  Basically, this is a slasher with brains — both figuratively and literally.

“A sturdy slasher flick that laces its splattery slayings with some anti-establishment undertones.” – Nick Schager, Lessons of Darkness

“A pretty underrated little slasher gem.” – Felix Vasquez Jr., Cinema Crazed
