Thanksgiving isn’t Thanksgiving without a viewing of Blood Rage. Todd and Terry are twin bros with twin problems — namely, one of them is an axe-wielding maniac. After a literal drive-in massacre, Todd is blamed for the carnage and institutionalized, while Terry goes free. Ten years later, Todd escapes from an asylum on Thanksgiving and the blood rage begins. Produced by whip-smart filmmaker Maryanne Kantor, directed by John Grissmer (Scalpel), and shot in Florida, this essential 1980s party slasher is what happens when you combine Thanksgiving, 1970s TV star Louise Lasser, a killer synth score, and the most unbelievable gore effects in all of slasherdom, courtesy Ed French (Terminator 2). Remember: “It’s not cranberry sauce.”
“A true gem from the VHS era, back when on-screen “twins” were depicted with one of them always turned away from the camera, rather than a CGI trick.” – Gena Radcliffe, The Spool
“A slasher’s always a great time when it goes for broke. And let me tell you, Blood Rage swings for the fences — all 82 minutes. R-rated’s never been so damn sweet!” – C.H. Newell, Father Son Holy Gore
